Meet the Team at The Lane
Who are we? A little bit about the people who work at The Lane.
Nick & Ange
Johnson
moved to Liverpool in 2007 to lead The Lane. Nick came from Hartlepool and Ange is originally from Warrington. They met in Hammersmith London in the 90’s.
Nick leads the preaching team at The Lane and loves theology, real ale and all things Triumph. Ange leads the life group network at The Lane and loves sun, sea, and sand, and beautiful locations.
They have three grown up children and one motorcycle.
Rob & Katy
Mc Avoy
relocated to Liverpool in 2010 from South Wales to lead the youth and children’s work at The Lane. They both come from Worcester, where they met as teenagers.
In 2022 Rob became Co Pastor whilst Katy took on the role of associate Pastor. Rob heads the leadership team and Katy leads pastoral care alongside Nick.
Rob loves LFC, most sports, and a bargain.
Katy loves being creative (especially knitting, sewing, and painting), and having coffee and cake with good friends. They have three girls at various stages of education.
Eliot & Sarah
Brown
are both Liverpool natives, and have been part of The Lane since 2010. Eliot is a theology student and our Youth Pastor, whilst Sarah helps lead our Extreme Kids Club. They also lead one of our family life groups.
Eliot loves football and all things ‘Marvel’. Sarah, when not working as a hairdresser, loves baking cakes. They have three growing boys.
Olly
Hargreaves
is married to Tammi. They have lived in Liverpool all their lives and have two children.
Olly joined the lane in 2013. At this time, whilst recovering from a broken femur, he had a life-transforming encounter with the love of God.
He left engineering in 2018, and has just finished a degree in theology. Olly is currently our CAP debt centre manager and is working part-time on a master’s in church planting.
Apart from Jesus, Olly loves conversation, theology, PlayStation, walking, and craft beer.
Our Vision
The Lane is a place where faith and real-life intersect
Our vision is to create a community of authentic believers to witness a community transformed by the life-changing reality of the gospel as people come to know Jesus.
That every man, women and child should repeatedly have the opportunity to hear, understand and to accept or reject the Good News of Jesus Christ.
We are members of the 'Evangelical Alliance' and'Together for the Harvest' group of Churches on Merseyside and subscribe to their vision.
